M2 Bradley HELP!!
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, June 5, 2003 12:04 PM
Hey y'all! This is my first attempt at making an armor model, and boy, did I pick a crappy kit to start on! It's a 1/48 scale M2A2 Bradley kit from "Zhengdefu"(never heard of 'em? Me neither!). Well, the kit SUCKS, but at least all the hatches are closed, so I don't have to model the interior!
But, since I'll save the rant for a later post, here's where y'all come in!
Could y'all plz tell me or show me where I can find tons of reference photos for the M2A2? I'd really like to make sure I'm putting everything where it belongs, as the instructions have been short of useless!(Did I mention it came without painting instructions? It doesn't even reccomend what color of paint to use!!)
BTW, don't worry about markings or insignia, I intend to put my M2 Bradley into service with the Confederate States Army!!

I got caught when Zhengdefu first hit the market back in 1996 or 97. I ordered a bunch of their modern armor kits. Problem is that they are basically toys. The lower hull is the same for all of their vehicles. In other words, the lower hull of your M2A2 is the same as their M1A1, T-90, Challenger, etc.

They used Tamiya built up photos as their box art and tried to fool everyone into thinking they were reduced sized Tamiya copies.

Be advised that Kitech as well as Academy have both reissued these kits both in the motorized and static variants.

BTW, if you follow the link in my signature, it will take you to my site with an M2A2 in it.
