Feedback on Bandai Russian Tank kit?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 20, 2003 10:44 PM
I just picked up a Bandai Russian Medium Tank T34/76 kit 1/48th scale. Just wondering if anyone has done this kit before and could give me some feedback on it. Anything I should watch out for, keep in mind while building it, any tips, hints? I've never built a tank before either so any info at all would be appreciated. TIA.

This was actually my first Bandai kit I ever built. I loved it, but at the time it was beyond my meager skills and I trashed it. I've got several now: M-12 howitzer, M4A3 Sherman, Hetzer and an Opel Maultier.

The Bandai kits are really cool, and have great interior detailing. Even though the detail holds up well, the kits are around the 30 year old mark and some detailing is simplified and inaccurate. But it gives you a great place to start. There are some old Eduard photo etch detailing sets kicking around for some of the old Bandai kits. I don't know if the T-34 was one of them, I've got a set for the Sherman and it adds a lot to the kit.

I have to agree with the Major these were cool kits. I built a few of these years ago. I still have a Jagdpanther laying around here somewhere. Every now and then you come across them. Bandai called the series the Panzertruppe Series if memory serves. Have fun.

I'm slowly building a collection of the Bandai 48th stuff, as well as others. (To go along with my 48th things with wings)

I've got a couple of the T-34's and for their age they look fairly decent. I too would like to hear some specifics on this particular kit.

The latest addition is a Bandai Wespe. Unfortunately, no instructions. Disapprove [V]
