Major G. to the rescue again ! Many thanks....
;( very sad to miss the chance to ride in a real M1A1, M3 or M113A3.
Question: Where do you park an Abrams tank?
Answer: Wherever you feel like it (as long as it's not in the CO's office)
just bein' silly...

XF-69 NATO Black

Should have stopped by today, I was giving rides in an M1A1, M3 and M113A3.

Rob:
Thanks for the reply...you rule ! I'm still laughing at the idea of 3 color "camo-in-a-can" ...
Are the Tamiya colors labelled as NATO Green (and Brown, I guess Black isn't too hard to match) or do they call them something else ? Maybe they use numbers ?
BTW, I was checking out your motor pool...You're a lucky guy ! Hey,all we have in our garage is a Saturn station wagon. I suppose I could ask if we could paint it in NATO, but it still lacks a bit of fire power. ;)
Please excuse me if I ask obvious questions...I'm not really dumb, just ignorant !
Thanks again !

Tamiya makes the NATO green, black and brown (not in the same bottle!) that are pretty darn good matches. They are acrylic paints as well.

What paint would you recommend as the closest match for NATO green ? I'm just starting out with armor modeling, and I don't have an airbrush...I'd prefer an acrylic paint if possible.
Thanks !

The hatch interior is normally green, even on a tan tank (the hatch is closed when the vehicle is painted). Some of the later tanks that are manufactured in tan have tan hatch interiors.

Rob,

Question: What color are the interior hatch covers? I have seen some that look grey, while others are the same as the exterior (color).

I have a fairly extensive set of detail photos on the Abrams tank here: http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?set_albumName=albun63&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php

The 4th row down has the Abrams album in it.
