This should probably be in the Figures forum. And since these are your first posts here, welcome to the FSM forums.

There are several sets of Dragon modern US figures. Most are very nice and will add greatly to your modern US armor. Too bad they don't do as many modern figures as they do WW2 Germans. I think DML has an unofficial goal of making a figure of every single German who served in WW2.

To elaborate more on what Major Gronovius said:

If I'm not mistaken, and I very well could be, the "Dragon Modern US Figures" is a series, not a particular set.

For instance they have, "US Marine Tank Killers," "US 101st Air Assault Screaming Eagles." US 82 Airborne," "US Light Infantry," "US, Special Forces," and "US Sniper Team," just to name the ones on my shelves now.

All of which are depicting modern solders, wearing modern equipment, and carrying modern weapons. Including but not limited to, M4s with Aimpoint scopes, SAWs and modular, internal frame ruck sacks.

There are a few of the sets here at internethobbies.

They're a good company too. I've done business with them and never had a problem.

Hey all... figured I'd drop my $.02 in on this one.

The DML figures are very good... BUT... they're all wearing early 90s equipment. LBEs, PASGT body armor and M-17 gas masks are all headed the way of the Dodo. They're not completely phased out, but they're rapidly being replaced by Tactical Load Bearing Vests (TLBV's), Interceptor body armor with MOLLE attachment points, and the new M40 Gas mask.

I recently got the "US Light Infantry" set and modified the figures to a more current standard. Modifying the flak vests was fairly simple because these figures were wearing the older M-69 variant (no shoulder pads like the PASGT vests) I added MOLLE loops and scraped off all other surface detail.

With one figure I used really thin sheet styrene (not sure the thickness) to build up a TLBV (tactical load bearing vest) and then hung ammo pouches on it. Overall it looked pretty good. I'd take some pics, but my digital camera doesn't do macro very well... its just a blurry mess.

I also updated the weapons... M-16A3s with flattop receivers, Aimpoint scopes and rail systems and vertical foregrips. One of my Abrams crewmen has a sweet M-4/203 combo that I cobbled together from parts of other weapons.

Hope that helps!

The US Special Forces set does come with LBV, M4's with Aimpoints, and MOLLE equipment. Although not equipped with the Point Blank body armor, (they're wearing no body armor at all) the PASGT vest is, as talked about above, easily modified to look like the Point Blank body armor. Now making it look like the wearer has his hard plates in? Now that's a little trickier.

But if kit hacking isnt for you, Dragons US Special Forces kit may be the one you would want.
