Proving Ground Museum

Hello,
I went on a museum trip with my 10 year old son yesterday. We went to the U.S. Army Proving ground Museum in Aberdeen Maryland . As many of you know the museum has a wealth of research and data sitting in it's back yard. Any armor enthusiast or military modeller who lives on the East Coast has been there at least once to view in some cases the last existing examples of many historic fighting vehicles. Many model manufacturers have also used the museum(non-profit organization) to design many of the plastic armor kits that we have all enjoyed building all these years.
Well unfortunately it seems to me that the foundation that is trying to keep the museum alive may need help. I have no affiliation with the museum or foundation but I couldn't help but take note that they could probably use our help. The foundation is attempting to raise money to build shelters for the tanks located outside in the field adjacent to the museum. They've downsized thier plans and need to raise $3 million dollars to complete the project.
I thought perhaps The IPMS as well as AAMPS and some of the militery figure clubs might do a display or show to help benefit the museum or we could help by building displays for them or something along these lines.Perhaps FSM and some of the manufacturers like Tamiya who have used the museum's collection could donate time or advertising to the "call".
I guess I would hate to see such a collection rot in an overgrown field.Perhaps we should get in touch with Spielberg and Hanks to redo the armor for movies and then put it back in Maryland!
I've contributed and I hope others out there will do the same.

I think it would be interesting if some manufacturers donated armor kits and modelling clubs donated the time to build them they could be donated to the museum for sale with the proceeds going to the fund raiser to build some cover for the armor in the "parking lot"( It would make a great long term display as well).. Tamiya hs a hall at Bovington-how about an IPMS hall at Aberdeen?
