Jumbo Sherman

Tamiyas Jumbo Sherman had a 76mm i belive, and I can still find it at my local hobbyshop, its not that hard to find. i dont think

yeah I am pretty sure that it was a 76. shermanfreak would know for sure

Sorry guys .... the Tamiya Jumbo comes with the 75 and is the only Jumbo kit in plastic. The are some errors with this kit that should be addressed. One being the turret and the other the transmission cover. Both have some dimensional problems. There is a new resin kit on the market but it is quite costly. The easiest fix for the Jumbo is to purchase a turret and transmission cover from The Tank Workhop and add them to the Tamiya Jumbo. A fairly reasonably and easy correction.

Jumbo's existed with both the 75mm and 76mm. Robert's correct that the Tamiya kit only comes with the 75mm gun, but 76mm guns for the kit are available from aftermarket manufaturers like Jordi Rubio.

Apparently Blast Models from France has the number one Jumbo conversion made. Somewhere someone did a review of the various Jumbo sets like the Tamiya, Tank Work Shop and new Blast set. I was able to pick up the TWS set for ony $8 from someone who had the Blast Models set inbound. I got the full set with upper hull, transmission cover, turret, and gun. I may have enough of the Tamiya Jumbo parts available for someone to do one using another Tamiya Sherman.
