T-80 camo scheme...
Posted by Zero Enna on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 9:07 AM

The Dragon T-80 with ERA comes only with one marking option... and I think it's a parade version... I've seen that the Zvezda kit comes with a tri-color camo scheme version... I want to paint my T-80 with the tri-color scheme... but what colors to use?... I only know that they are brown, gray and green, but I don't know what kind of them exactly... any suggestions?... another thing... I only use Humbrol enamels... it must look like this:

Thanks in advance.

That dark green looks like any standard russian green. Why not pick up some colours, and try to mix them yourself. I'm afraid I can't provide any humbrol references as I never use humbrol.

I have built this version and while I don't have the exact Humbrol numbers in front of me, I remember using Russian green (#114, out of production now) and a light grey and a leather color mixed with red brown.  IIRC, #116 would also be a good choice for the green color.

Zero, for the green you can use a forest green in place of Russian green. For the brown use a earth brown and for the grey you might want to try a royal navy grey. All these colors Humbrol should have and should come very close to what you want. After you have painted this tank use a ft.black wash that is very thined out to dull and this should bring it to the colors that you see.Digger
