Tiger of a different stripe

Howdy Gents and Ladies,

I have a question for you armor and R/C experts. Would it be better to buy Tamiya's Tiger I static model and then purchase the electronic components separate, or would it be better to just buy Tamiya's Full Option Tiger I? One good thing about the static model is that small details like the hatches are made to open and close; this would allow me to hide the on/off switch under a hatch. The good side to the full option Tiger I would be that everything is all there. Erock68, Shermanfreak, Moses, Muzzleflash88; Help![:0]

This is a tough one because, I am still trying to get my 1/16 Tiger (That may change this eve, is all goes well :p] ) The full option RC has metal drive sprokets and such. I think the static comes with plastic (could be wrong here)

I know that some statics have the ability for forward and reverse so, the mounts could be there for all the controls.

Wish I could be more help.

okieboy,
The static model is the same as the full option without the r/c gear and some of the servos, and gearing for moving the turret and barrel. It is motorized, just not r/c and has the metel sprockets, working suspension, etc. If you really want the tank to be r/c I'd fork out the extra for the full option and save getting parts for what's missing. The running gear is there but that's it.

Let me know if you got it Erock

Erock,425 wouldn't have been bad at all if you'd got it. Did you get my e-mails?
