Matilda
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, August 1, 2003 2:39 PM
As my nest project I would like to do a 1/35 Matilda. My question is has anyone done one, or know of a good kit to try. I am in a relatively small town so I haven't been able to find one yet, but I may get a chance to get to the big city to find one.

I have done the Matilda produced by Tamiya and there is also a detail set for it made by Eduard. The only other one that I know of is Matilda I by Accurate Armour & Commander Series Models but is pretty pricey at $90.00 US range.

The Tamiya kit of Matilda 1/35 is out of production and can be hard to find these days. I find mine example of the kit on ebay but it was not easy to catch. A rare object and I wish you good hunting Smile [:)]

The Matilda is one of Tamiya's older kits. No where near the kits that they build now but still a very workable kit, if you can find one.

Shouldn't be too hard to find.
The one I have here was made by Tamiya Brazil! It's all in Portuguese! Says it's a "Tanque MKII Do Ecercito Britanico." Serie Militaria Escala 1/35! And to think I wasted all my money on a Japanese degree...

I didn't even know there was a Tamiya Brazil.

Some good detail parts that I have are Clipper Models' resin mantlet and aluminum barrel set, and Friulmodel's metal tracks. I don't have any PE for this kit, but I'm sure Eduard or Aber must have something.

Hey Sean,
Just took a spin through Military Hobbies and they just got a shipment that included the Matilda.
Seeing as you are in Canada, I'll give you their Canadian link. These are great people to deal with, great service !!!
