First Time Armor Pics
Posted by lizardqing on Saturday, August 2, 2003 1:43 PM
I thought I would post pics of the first armor I have built to get some feedback. Sorry the pics are not real good, my camera usually does better. It was done on a budget since thanks to a "possibly" intoxicated driver I have not worked in 3 months. There is less than $30 in the whole project. Please let me know what you think .

If the landscape looks off, it may be because I have a whole $1 invested in it.

Here you go lizardqing ... looks like you didn't copy the entire link.

Nice looking job on the Bradley. Very good for the first time.

The pics aren't that bad but they do make details a little hard to see.

What did you use to make the ground work?

Thanks for sharing with us.

Nice work, Lizardqing. Keep it up and keep posting your work.

Ive had some problems posting images myself. Looks like Colin did too. I ended up posting the link just like you did.

Thanks for the comments. thanks for fixing pics sherman to. well the ground work consists of a $1 bag of decrotive sand that came with some shells at the dollar store, the dunes are just some aluminum foil shaped with some paper towl wadded under it for support till the glue dried over it. the brush and trees are some kind of weed i have growing on a slope and the rocks are well rocks. i used some wood glue and about 3 or 4 layers for the sand and everything else is just glued down with sand covering the glue which actually made it look like sand had been blown around the base of things.
The only mods on the Bradley is the tarp on the front which I made from wax paper. It is actually there to cover a smudge from my 2 year old. One thing I tried to darken it up some though may be a little unorthodox but it worked. I burnt a paper towl in a bowl and lightly coated the details of the tank with the soot. te base color still shows through and it looks pretty good to me allthough like i said this is the first time i have tried both armor and weathering. ONe thing I had better note is that my wife actually did alot of the detail painting. She enjoys it and actually have something to do together with no bickering. I will try to get some upclose shots but with my camera i don't know.
