The Tamiya Panzer IV D is a fairly old kit, and needs some work with fitting, flash, etc. I love the kit and have built two in my time with modelling. I recommend finding some references to some units..because you can do alot with that particular Panzer IV. Good luck with it HORUS.

Cheers

Moses,
Thanks man i will be calling on your Panzer knowledge alot with this one:)
Heres my first question, are there fitment issues with the muffler and the top of the hull? I tried dry fitting and the back of the top, seems to hit the muffler.

Aslo i can use the louverd engine cover(africa style) panels and still have it be Panzer grey right?

I have also built this kit, but it was a while ago, and the model is hidden in a box in the basement somewhere. As I recall ( were talking about 8 or 9 years now) it was the turret motor’s muffler that was a little tricky, but I don’t think I had to do anything to it to get it to fit. Worst case scenario, I would say glue the hull together, and trim hidden parts of the muffler till it fits.

As for the color, I would say gray would be fine, as most early panzers were shipped to Africa in this color. You need to remember though, that crews would often paint their vehicles a sand color as soon as possible, sometimes even with paint they captured. If paint was not available, they would try to smear wet dirt on the tank, and let that dry. So, you will probably want to put a thick coat of “dust, or dirt” over that gray.

Yeah that muffler is a PITA...lol Anywho i am attaching everything i can to the hull, so i can paint it all at once, (everything that needs to be one color...then i am goin to detail the snot out of it...i hope:)

I am going to paint it grey but i will do the dirt and dust but i may need some guidance on that phase of it when it comes time...

Thanks all
I will have progress pics up soon...and i will also have the Leopard done soon...just need to dull coat it and redetail and i will get the pics up:)
