Once again...very nice work.

I've got 23 days until the next local show.  Once that is over, I'll be starting another MUTT.  Thank you for the motivation.  My next will probably be an american recoilless rifle or an Isreali version.

hey Grant..

DJAPAS is the correct name, well JEEP SIYUR is the correct name but is called Djapas for short by the Israelis.  It's technically NOT a jeep, but they call every 4X4 a jeep in Israel

Nicely done.  I like the guns and the weathering.

I'll agree with you about the diffrerence between the Tamiya and the Academy kits...Tamiya is big on ejector pin marks...the worst part is that the'd be highly visible if not filled in.

What does DJAPAS stand for?

Thanks Arty, the Academy kit had that part, but it fell off the original model as I was stripping it of it's parts.  This is going to have a rag of that part anyway, so you wont see it, but I'll keep that in mind for my next one

Looks really good.  You may want to add the slave cable connection point that Tamiya left off.  It goes where there is a square hole on the right side below the windshield frame.  It is a round tube with a cap and retainer strap.  Looks like below.

Tamiya put it in their M151A2 w/ trailer  adn M151A2 TOW kits, but left it out of the staight M151A2 kit.

M151A2 IDF Updated, Finished
Posted by CDNTanker25 on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 11:55 AM
Hey all, this is just a little project I'm working on between moving and not moving.  Just something small and what I'm not used to.  I started out with the Academy M151A1 Shmira, however to my shegrin this thing was never used, and some say it never existed in IDF military use.  Sooo back to the drawing board I went, and I found out you had to kitbash the M151A2 with the IDF parts from the Shmira kit.  So I got the A2 Version by Tamiya and bashed it with parts from the Academy version, what was created was the DJAPAS.  This is a reconnisance version and is going into a vignette with some IDF figs on a hillside.  It is still in progress as I have to add another radio and a handset cord over the roll bar, and alot of stowage as these things were packed to the nines, hope you like what I've got so far.

I must say I should have went with the Academy A2 as this would have been better detailed and lack the serious amount of ejector pin marks as the Tamiya one, not to mention the Tamiya chassis didn't even have foot pedals... oh well, the figures are out of the vehicle and a backpack will go where the details are missing
