Howdy, all!
Big contest coming up October 25th at my local hobby shop, and the theme is TIGERS! I or II, either is fine.
SO, I'm finally gonna do something I've always wanted to do: recreate in 1/35 the ol' Tiger II on display in the Bovington Tank Museum in England.
But wait! It gets even more specific than that. I'm not doing it as it appears now, in that dodgy 3-tone camo with the mannequin stuck in the turret, but rather as it appeared in the mid-80's in the Tamiya News Special Photo Collection "German WWII Tanks in World Museums, Vol. 1." Just a nice, dignified, overall Dark Yellow. The book features tons of great pix of this tank on pages 16-19, from almost every angle.
ALMOST every angle!
Finally, my question: does anyone know of any good reference pix of the entire roof of the turret? The cupola is gone, and the hole is covered by a metal mesh, secured with some steel bars and fasteners, but alas, I can only see half of this opening.
A good pic would really clear that mystery up.
Also, anything from the rear would be appreciated. I have a few good pix from the rear, but the funky and damaged exhaust pipes and some of the various openings on the rear plate are a little ambiguous.
I've been to the Bovington website and did a websearch, but came with with mainly front left or right three-quarter shots.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
