I have the same kit, still in the box.
it is top of my list after my german armor stint :)
I have the DML Firefly also, but the tracks are still a little to intimidating.

good luck, have fun,

You can build a very good M4A3 (75) W without too many problems. Yes there's some minor flaws in accuracy but nothing a person can't live with. The biggest problem is when you try to build the M4A2 version. There are a few modifications that need to be done to the rear of the hull. And a bit of scratchbuilding. The tracks are the usual stiff planks that come from Italeri, they can be used but need to be handles carefully when placing them on the kit. The joint for the idler wheel is rather weak and will snap off if forced to hard.

Have fun with it, it's still a decent kit and builds up quite nice.

Here's a couple of pics of the same Sherman, but with the late turret with a 76 instead of a 75.

ryder...
That's where I bought the one I have. I was mostly wondering if it's worth building or not. I don't have any experience with Sherman's. They are very confusing to me as to their subtypes and different suspensions.
I live in Utah, and until last Saturday, could run into (35 miles away!!) their store and get what I wanted on the fly!
greatmodels is a pretty neat buying site, but I'm not happy about loosing the retail store! :-(

Thanks for the come back.

That 'US Marines Sherman' kit is listed on the page that shows items 101-120 of 147 items. Thats how they show their inventory. Again the item # is ' it6389 '. You'll have to pay shipping, but what else is new?
I am a current customer of Greatmodels They are based in Utah somewhere. I have a large order coming tomorrow via UPS. Please don't tell my wife or I'll be KIA!!!

Go to the following website: www.greatmodels.com.
When the home page loads, click on 'manufacturers' on the upper left of the screen. When that loads scroll down to 'armor models' and click on that.
When that page loads scroll down the left column to 'Italieri' and click on that.
When that page loads click about six page in and on the bottom of that sixth page there is listed a "US Marines M4 Sherman 1/35th kit ON SALE for $12.75. The kit is #it 6389.

I just came from there it see it was still on sale. Good luck.
If you were unable to follow my round-about directions go to greatmodels.com and find the search function then input 'sherman tank' and look thru results.

Happy Hunting!

Major Rob has pretty much nailed this one .... the only thing that I would add, is at $13, I'd buy a half dozen.

It is their old (1989?) Sherman that they mistakenly marketed as the M4A2 "Jumbo". It was a pretty decent M4A3 though. They also reissued it with the calliope rocket launchers around 1996. This latest reissue adds wooden armor, wading trunks and a corrected engine deck, but purists argue that the rear portion of the hull is not proper for an M4A2. Still, without the add-ons, it is a decent M4A3.

Build it with the wooden armor and wading trunks, and it looks enough like a Pacific theater Sherman for the casual builder.

This hull has some mileage since it was also used for their M36B1 Jackson, issued at the same time as the M4A2 Jumbo kit. The lower hull and running gear are the same as the ones that come with the original M4A1, M7 Priest, M32 TRV, and Kangaroo.

Does anybody know much about the Italari Marines Sherman? How good of a kit is it, etc. They can be had right now for under $13. Seems too good to pass up, (and actually I've already got one), but I don't know a lot about Shermans -- yet. Sorry Shermanfreak, I'll try and do better in the future!
