Can someone explaine the MM markings on Tamiya box
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, August 8, 2003 1:23 AM
I have always wonderd what the little MM markings on the Tamiya boxes meant, i mean i know they stand for milimeter but in what aspect, like take for my example my Leo cam with the marking MM -112, while my Panzer IV D has MM-96...now is this just a representation of their relevant size, or does this mean that a 112 mm model will look odd next to a 96mm model?

Please help me figure this out!

Thanks all!

OH i am hitting a very large Armor model shop tomm and i get to pick out a Tank model for helping out a friend, what should i get, i was thinking a Panther or a Tiger...any other suggestions would be appreciated.....and I will wait to hear at least a few responces:)

MM=Military Miniatures
Check out the box tops of some of their older kits on store shelves, they say Military Miniatures.

DML's Panthers are way nice, but I really like their SPG series (Nashhorn, Hornisse, Hummel), too.

I know you'll wind up with a fantastic kit.

Best always;

Tamiya Tiger I Late Version (with 5 tank crew included & individual track links)

or Tamiya Panther Type G Late Version (with Edward's Photo-etched parts included - how I wished I have this one).

Whatever you do choose wisely.

Horus, I've got one of those coming from e-bay, if it ever gets here. I'll be looking forward to your build reviews and pics!!
btw, I've used eduard's pe zimmerit on the DML Elefant. Not too happy with it. I might go so far as ripping it off and doing the putty thing. But probably not. Maybe I can just patch fill, and scribe the parts I don't like. I really don't like the way the edges of the pe sheets come (or don't come) together.

It is some international marking required on products sold in the European market. CE is an abbreviation for 'Conformité Européenne', French for 'European Conformity'. Sort of a safety marking.
