Source for small chains on 1/35 scale?
Posted by ponch on Friday, August 8, 2003 12:24 PM
Hi everybody,

I want to add some 1/35 scale chains to my panzer iv j. Can anybody tell me where I can get them from? I went to one of those cheap teeny-boper jewelry stores but the chains they have are too thick for the scale. I could hack my wife's jewelry, but then I'd need to sign all those nasty divorce papers Black Eye [B)]...
Any suggestions?

I use Verlinden-Productions chains. They come in heavy or small. Here are some links..

You can also see the heavy tow chain on the rear of my Stug..

Go to an arts and crafts store like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Crafts etc. They have those jewelry making sections.

If your hobby shop has a wooden ship section look for Model Shipways chains. They come in different lengths and link sizes. They also come blackend.

Twist tightly two copper wires from electric cabling and then hit them gently with a small hammer and you will get chains for free. The smaller the wire diameter is the smaller chains you get...
