In the mid 80's, the Army experimented with a four color scheme on AFV's, before the 3 color NATO scheme, that was a to be a possible replacement for the MERDC scheme. The base color was Dark Green 34079, with blotches of Light Green 34151, Field Drab 30118, and black (37038?). I think it first appeared around 85 or so and was usually on vehicles fresh out of depot/arsenal rebuild/overhaul. It seemed to go away when the NATO scheme appeared in 87.Unfortuantely none of the pictures I took in that time period showed the pattern clearly. Does anyone know where where patterns for this scheme may exist online or in books?
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
