Good sound advice tnker101. I found the same thing in self-propelled artillery. For an "action" piece, with an interior, dont forget the mud on the floor or the commander's seat/platform.

Weathering, there are so many good options that a new modeler could be over welmed. As a "tanker" my tank during use gets covered with mud, dust and assorted spills. Lost more than one good cup of coffee down the turret. So my point, try anything. Unless your theme is fresh built or just washed, tanks attract dirt. If there is a Armory close, check to see if there is a M60 or a duster out front. Great ideas for paint fade. Heavy equipment is another source, even your own vehical. Use your ideas and enjoy after all your creating a dirty tank or AFV.
