I think I'm just going to put it on a base renarts and thanks for the props! I'll probably eventually do a figure or 2 loading some ammo on it but I'm not in a big hurry to tackle figures Tongue [:P]

I look forward to the completion pics. Nice work with the Aztek. I use one and like it fine. (Its not the price of the tool but how well you use it that counts)
Going to make a display base for this or is it going in a dio?

i love the camouflage, it looks fantastic ! i can hardly wait to see it with the weathering added... most definitely inspirational ( i may have to try some WW II German armor soon) !

Wipw I used the tan nozzel which is the smallest for the Aztecs. I used Tamiya acrylics thinned almost 50/50 with IPA (isopropyl acohol) and around 20psi on my compressor. That gives a thin enough mixture to spray fine lines. The rest is just taking your time and being careful.

Just have to add my two cents worth.
That is a fantastic job. I've got a III M waiting in the wings. You guys always inspire (and humble) me!
I am especially impressed that you are using an Aztec. I've got one and can't get anywhere near that fine of control with it. Which head did you use? I've got a badger 200 that I like better, but don't like to clean, and a Pasche VL that I can't stand to clean!

Guess you pick your poison and lie in which ever bed works best.

Hulk Thanks, and yes I'll be working on something a little bigger SOON!!! I figured I should finish the Marder since the rest of y'all are still getting parts and/or waiting for permission from the boss to start Big Smile [:D]

ERock Thanks for the compliments!! No I didn't use a mask on the camo. It was all free hand but if the pictures were better you would see that there is a little overspray here and there. I'm using an Aztec so it's not as tight as an Iwata might be but It's good enough that weathering and dry brushing will take care of the overspray.

really guys, I appreciate it. This is my first armor model since...grade school?? (when I built 'em to play with 'em, no painting there!!! ). Anyway I've been reading and researching as I was building my armor collection to learn the tricks and now I get to try my hand at weathering and dirt and mud...oh boy Big Smile [:D]

Did you use a mask at all while airbrushing? I always get a bit of overage on colors that I have to deal with. Yours is perfect.

Just to prove I really do build models I decided to post a pic of my Marder III. Just finished the basic camo and getting ready to detail paint etc before dirtying it up. [edit] It's OOB except for a Jordi Rubio barrel.

There's a few more pics in the album if y'all want to look. I don't have a good photo area yet and no tripod so they're not as sharp as I'd like.
