Neat trick for Tiger OOB side skirts

Well i was thinking since i did not have the PE set for the skirts, why not make the OOB ones look as real as possible. So using the backside of a exacto blade i scored away the sepration lines untill it was seperated on the skirt but not at the top where it attaches:)

That looks good Horus. If you sand down the edges a bit to thin them out I bet it'll look as good as brass! You could probably put a few bends in the edges then too.

Good job, Horus. But why not completely separate them? Would look pretty cool!
Try bending and slightly repositioning them, too.
Kinda like this:

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of a Tiger (I or II) with a straight (or even complete) set of skirts on.

The 1/16 Aber set comes with the skirt end pieces.
And everything else you could imagine! And more!

Are you talking about the brace at the front and the back? I think most of the brass sets do have the supports underneath but they don't sit right at the edge of the skirt. If you feel brave you could try seperating those edges too but I'd be real careful so you don't mess them up. Keep up the good work Big Smile [:D]

I agree with J-Hulk...I have not seen many refrence pics with perfect side skirts, except for ones rolled straight out of the factory. Although I have seen a few pics of King Tigers in the field with undamaged side skirts. Might be because they were fairly new to the battle field.

With all the 1/16th scale talk going on, I have started to build Tamiya's Tiger 1 Mid Pro. Half way done with the Zimmerit, and will be using brass side skirts. The Tiger 1 is probably the easiest kit to build in my opinion, so, pics to follow once building has commenced.
