Great job on the Arrow Anthony. Good to see a model of this would-have-been great aircraft. Saw the few remaining parts of the real thing last time I was in Ottawa.

Did you add a link to this in the Aircraft section? I bet some of the people there would enjoy this one.

P.S. sorry about not being able to get back to you via e-mail, I've been away from home for the past month.

Thanks! Heres the thing, I used the resin set with the older HC Avro Arrow, so I had to do some minior filling, but it should be fine it you use it in the proper kit.

Anthony,

Excellent work on the Arrow!  I have the 1:48 HC kit in my stash, along with the Master Casters resin 'pit.  How did you like the resin and did it mate up well with the kit?  It is apparent that you did an outstanding job here, and I hope mine comes out half as nicely!  When using your digital cam, make sure that you are set on close up (a little flower looking thingie on my view screen), as it changes the focal length and will let you capture the fine details.  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, it was that simple, for this I just Futured once and then two coats of Testors gloss coat, but I would reccommend just using Future. The paint appears to have chipped a little, so next time I'm just using Future.

I'm liking what you did here.  It's so smooth and shiny.  I'm going to be working on my F-106 and gloss is the finish I need.  Could you elaborate more on your technique or was it that simple?

Hi,
very impressive build. I have the 1/72 Arrow in my stash and I'm looking forward to building it. I liked the thought of building the 1/48, but didn't like the cost of the resin extras you added in. Yours looks good though. Well done.

I see what you mean about the out of focus close ups. It may be that your camera is just not up to it. What I have found with some of my close ups is that they are better if you move the camera a bit further back and zoom in. I presume your camera doesn't have a macro facility?

A armor guys plane...Avro Arrow - now with detailed Cockpit pics!

Hi guys, as some of you may know, I started this project a while ago, and ran into problems like crazy. Well it is finally finished. It is Hobbycrafts 1/48 Avro Arrow, I added the Master Casters resin cockpit set and landing gear set. I made the F.O.D covers with balsa wood, and the red flag type of things with foil. I made decals to go on them; on the flags it says "Remove Before Flight" and on the F.O.D covers I have the Avro Arrow logo. The cockpit I detailed as much as I could, but none of the pics allow you to seeSad [:(] Anyone know how I could get some good close up pics without them getting blurry?? I finished her with a first coat of future then two coats of Testors Gloss coat, and man she is glossy! (again the pics don’t show it...) So anyway, here are the pics...

Any and all comments welcome!

Enjoy!
