Need Help - 60cm Mörser "Karl"
Posted by South Aussie on Thursday, August 28, 2003 5:34 AM
I am at present working on the Dragon 60cm Mörser that was supplied with the Aluminium Shell but the kit instructions do not give any information on painting it. Can any one tell me what the base color of the shell is and the color and number bands on it if any.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

Hey Sand Groper, (sorry non-Aussies, an inside joke) how can you afford this kit, the Aussie $ being what it is!!!

go to this site

http://www.jagdtiger.de/index2.htm

There a couple of shots from museum pieces there.

go to

http://www.panzerlexikon.de/access/access1.php
for an MPEG download of Karl firing! Lots of other tidbits there too!

Best of luck in the build - lucky bugger!!

Here is the URL for a Karl shell :

It appears to be the same color of green as german mess kits and gas mask canisters, at least the ones I have look the same.

Thanks to all those who replied - the URL addresses where helpful.

Will try to post a photo of the completed model to the armor forum when I finally complete it.

Cool [8D]To petbat I forgive you for calling me a sandgroper but don't let it happen again. Guess I am lucky providing the other half does not find out who much I spent on it.

Sand groper, crow eater - a bird is a bird. Will teach me to open my big mouth (fingers I guess, since I typed it) won't it. At least you guys knew it was a joke.

By the way, hear you on the wife bit! My club had a display at last weeks "Qld Hobby and Model Expo". I dropped off some models for the display on the Friday night and intended to buy a bit before official opening whilst I was there.

Try as I might, I couldn't get the wife to stay home; she just had to tag along. After a quick look around she asked "You don't spend that much on those things do you? Divorce is very expensive with 3 kids, so I had to say "no, of course not!" Missed out on a lot that I wanted!! Ah well, maybe next year.

Love to see the pics posted in due course.
