For Pierre

These are my finished Pictures of my two French tanks I've been working on. Both are in 1/72 scale. One is by Heller, the other by Revell Germany. Guess which is which! Clown [:o)] (unnecessary hint: look at the tracks!) Tongue [:P]

Here is my AMX 30-105:

And here is my French LeClerc:

Pierre, I hope I did you and the French Army right! Approve [^]

I apologize for the poor quality of these. My digital camera is really lousy! The only thing I can shoot clearly is my small-scale Armor. Anything bigger and it comes out extremely blurry, no matter what I do, how I set the camera, or whether I use a tripod or not. Nothing works! So, I won't be able to post the pics of my aircraft, large helicopters or ships I've built. At leastI have these for your enjoyment.

Nice work, Duke. Glad Pierre got you the info you needed on the AMX. Did you enjoy that Heller kit? How was the Leclerc kit? I've got it under the table... Might be one of my next projects!

Nice, Duke!
Those are two of my favorite armored vehicles, although I've yet to build either. I have the 1/35 Heller kits in the closet, though!
Yeah, what the heck was Heller thinking with those trax? Looks like they got 'em off a stalk of broccoli! You did a great job with the kit, though! I'm diggin' the camo.

Thanks for the comments gentlemen! I hand painted them using Dark Green basecoat and then patterned them with French Chestnut and Aircraft Interior Black, all from Testors. Then after clearcoating and decaling, I clearcoated again to wash and drybrush them. You can't see it in the pics, but it really looks good!

Thanks J-Hulk, I'm glad you like the camo. It was fun to do. both my kits here are 1/72 scale, so I'm reallyh looking forward to your 1/35th scale kits!

dj, they were fun kits to build. The Heller was rather simple, since it is almost toylike in parts quality. Most detail is molded on. Then the tracks really blow! Looking at photos of the AMX, the tracks look similar to American tracks on the M 60 so I was considering mounting some spare indies I have. Whether that is true that they use those types of tracks or not, they look similar enough for me to consider getting away with it in small scale.

The Leclerc was almost frighteningly detailed! There is so much to do on it! The parts were very crisp and finely molded. That was a fun kit to build! It went together smooth! I strongly recommend starting it! :-)

thanks Erock! Your kits rock too!

I'll be taking them to my next IPMS meeting on the 19th. When I do, I'll get a better photo of both. Maybe one will bring home an award! :-)

I think that Revell Leclerc is coming over the table soon!
