Supply truck ?
Posted by lizardqing on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 5:39 PM
I just found out that my grandfather drove a tractor trailer type supply truck with a covered wagon style trailer in Korea. Just wondering if there are any kits of this type and where I might be able to at least find a picture of one. I don't think I have ever seen anything other than the regular straight body types. It would be nice to put one together but I have a feeling that it won't be easy. Thanks.

I have a fairly rare model of a 1950-60s Army tractor trailer truck. The prime mover is based on the M34 2½ ton truck.

Wow that could be the one. I did find out a little from my dad eaarlier and he said it was all wheel drive and around a 25' soft top trailer. I guess ebay would be the best bet on finding one of those.

Your Grand Dad more than likely drove a M-221 tractor. The M-34 series came out in the mid 50's.[community.webshots.com/photo/31383976/49436062MhWQoV

That sounds like it could be it, he was Korea 53-54. Are those available in a kit?

I haven't seen a kit of one. I have been looking for the tractor and the 2 1/2 ton cargo carrier for a long time.

Well I suppose that is one kit I would like to but just as with a modern fire engine, don't look like it's going to happen. Thanks for the info though, I learned something so therefore it's not a total loss.
