S Tank, Tank or Sports car?
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 7:26 AM
Just finished up this little jem of a kit. I usually build large scale figures but couldn't pass up this sports car of a tank as it has allways been a favorite of mine. Kit goes together very smoothly with no fit problems anywhere. I'd like to build another one but does anyone know of a replacement resin or white metal track to replace the rubber band ones from the kit? Has any manifacture produced any add ons for this kit? ( Not that it really needs any.)

Thanks for looking.

Very nice! Sharp looking base, too.
If that's the 1/35 Trumpeter kit, I do believe there are some link tracks available. Armour...Armour something or other...when I remember, I'll let ya know!Wink [;)]

Great looking model! That's what I call taking low-profile to a whole new level! Leave it to the Swedes to make a weapon that stylish.

Eduard has a p/e set out for the S tank and FineMolds has a barrel out for the b/c variants. I haven't seen anything out to replace the tracks. I built the "B" and was only disappointed in the quality of the tracks.

that's one sweet S-Tank ! i think they do look a lot like sports cars... maybe a prime canditate for NASTANK, or since it's swedish, maybe a World Rally Tank series...

Excellent build Dan !!!!

The subtle weathering on this one really works well. Nicely displayed too.

looks very nice well done
when i went to Bovinton they had one there and on the top of the tank info sheet there was a photo of a S-tank painted in the Swedish flag, blue with yellow cross
i like the idea of the NASTANK and S_Tank Turbo rally tank

Impressive build and striking layout. Cool [8D]

One of the guys from my club built this kit, but did it on a snow scene base. The result was very nice, but the stark white took a little away from the vehicle, whereas your simple black/grey base and title feature really compliments the vehicle; The black makes the weathering job on the tank really stand out.

Are you going to scratchbuild one in a later model with camo? That could be a challengeTongue [:P]

Very nice work. It does look a little sporty for a tank.

Thanks to eveyone for the encouraging comments. I'd like to post more photos but I'm having trouble with my web site softwear.
The Trumpeter kit is a real beauty and I'll build another B type soon, maybe this time with the dozer blade down.. Always thought that the S Tank looked a bit like a 'Mad Max' version of a Lamborghini Countach. Not bad for a 70's MBT with auto loader and active suspension which can be driven almost as fast in reverse. Sort of the ultimate Hetzer!

Thanks again for your kind words.

Nice job building, but sports car :^) ? The first time I saw an S
tank, I couldn't believe how BIG the thing was! It was nose down
for mounting up and you reallly had to climb to get to the back end. Big, cool, tanks!!!

I was told that the NIMIX kit of the M-50 Ontos had very similar tracks and they are in resin. Beautiful, but can it fight?
