As a recent convert to armor from autos I can tell you that most current cars/vans/truck kits are either 1/24th or 1/25th or 1/20th. There are some 1/32nd kits out there! Not sure how noticable the difference from 1/35 they would look? May be close enough. I have never compared the two scales.

you could get the italeri SAS land rover and build it with out the SAS stuff on it and place a Russian 12.5 on the back and youve got a technical from Somalia and Seiera Leone, theres also 1.35 Beetles by italeri, you just have to kut the rear window bigger and square and add different wheels
Heller and Airfix make 1/32 cars but there normaly rally cars or sports cars

Go to ebay and search for the old Monogram and Revell (before they became Revell-Monogram) snap-tite 1/32 scale civilian vehicles like police cars, pickup trucks, Blazer, Bronco II, vans, etc. There are several types of pickup trucks like Datsun, Ford, Chevy, maybe Dodge. Very basic kits that can be made to look OK.I had an old blue Chevy pickup that I built as a kid that I subsequently refitted like a "Rat Patrol" vehicle (this conversion was done before the term "technical" became known as an armed civilian combatant vehicle).

Airfix also has several 1/32 scale cars, but I was looking at the catalog with my local hobby retailer on Wednesday. They really didn't have anything decent to use as a technical. Mainly small European sports coupes and a VW.

AMT/Ertl or Revell-Monogram recently reissued their old fire engine and police car in 1/32 scale. I contemplated that set on Wednesday as well. Only other 1/32 vehicles were monster trucks, too bad they couldn't be built stock, those pickup truck bodies had possibilities.

Good luck in your searches.
