I know what your talking about Rob but, this paint is a different line brought out by Krylon. I believe your thinking along the lines of the "Chromalusion" type stuff.

This stuff supposed to be great for plastics. I have used other Krylon paints with great results on car bodies. I don't know how this paint is really any different than what they have now. I personally haven't tried them yet. The only paint I use by them now is their primer and Flat black.

Is this the type of paint that comes in a set with two or three spray cans and has paint that looks different colors when viewed from different angles? If so, a guy in my club paints model cars and trucks with this stuff and he hasn't had any problems.
