You guys are great . Do you know of anyone who makes a 251/7 in 1/35th? Pionier stuff is also a favorite of mine. caveman ,what paint did you use to paint your halftrack? I noticed the 2nd Panzer trident,is there a background to that choice? I suppose I could scratchbuild a engineer 251. Did the crews wear the wraparound tunics? Thanks again J

Thanks Caveman, I should have mentioned those in my last post. Have you assembled the AFV tracks?

Hi Josef. Sorry I don't know of any down South in your kneck of the woods. You must have liked Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers, they have a few scenes with the 251. It's my favorite as well. Unfortunately, mine is still in the box. Disapprove [V] I did discover someone who makes indy tracks, so mine might get rolling sooner than later. Wink [;)]

Thanks for your help. I needed an excuse to go and get a new reference book. (and a trip to the hobby store) I live in San Bernadino, do any of you know where to find a modeling group down here? By the way ,the 251 is still my favorite A.P.C. of all time

Caveman is probably correct. My Osprey book on the 251 family isn't much help, but it does show a cutaway of a 251 Ausf C with the same interior color as the exterior, which in that case was panzergrey. My Tamiya Ausf D says to paint the seats a flat brown. I don't see any wood slats on the floor of my model. As far as paint is concerned, I prefer brushing with Humbrol enamels and spraying with Model Master Acryls. Good luck and welcome to the forum. Good choice on the 251by the way. Cool [8D]

Welcome the the forums Pionier44
i just spray the inside the same as the outside dark yellow, but thats on a 251Ausf D
it might have been different at the start of the war but i cant answer that
they had rubber road wheels on the 251s through out the war but they started using all metal tracks near the end of the war
try this site http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/3515/251/index.htm
heres a picture of one ive done (long time ago)

You might find a copy of Squadron/signals book on the 251, it might give you the info you need.

Hello, as i get older i find it harder to finish a model unless i have every detail down. What color did the Panzertroops use inside their 251 series halftracks? I saw on a site that said the back was the same as the outside and the drivers area was a ivory color that would better reflect light. What about the seats(cloth or leather?). Did they put wood slats on the floors. Who makes the best colors to match these areas? Help, my models sitting waiting for me to come back. P.S. did they use rubber roadwheels throughout the war? Thanks.
