I hear that Academy is coming out with both a Grant and Lee. Grant will most likely hit first to "force" us to buy the British version then they will release the Lee later on. Just like they did with the M3 Stuart 'Honey' and M3A1 Stuart. Supposedly has an interior as well. I don't know if a cast hull is in the works, but you know one of the major resin guys will make one for the new Academy kit.

Hey Gordo,

Cromwell Models makes a hull to convert the tamiya M3, but it is a bit on the pricey side.

On the M3 topic though, there is supposed to be a new M3 Lee / Grant released some time this year by either Academy or AFV Club. With the way these guys move though I wouldn't hold my breath until they are released.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Gordo,

I don't know if any A1 hulls are coming out, but I converted an old Monogram M3 (1/32 scale) into an M3A1 without much difficulty.... cut the back armor off of the M3, used a modified M4A1 rear armor and went from there. The crew compartment 'curves' were fairly easily made by bracing the hull roof down the sides with styrene, then cutting off the corners of the armored 'box' with a Dremel. Curved styrene and filler did the rest. Not a bad little project to try.
