Check out these pictures from Major Charvat from the Armor Conference 2003 at Fort Knox.

Not exactly what you're looking for and there is no .50 Cal mounted, but should help.

There is basically just a "butterfly" trigger in the back. So that you use both thumbs to depress the mech. M-2 HB .50 cal machine gun. I love the "ma duece". Two rounds and the target is done! (one for ranging) Thats the way it was back in my Army days. No pics though, sorry.

if you go to an armoured units web page you might be able to talk someone into getting you a pic of what you want?
I usually try to hook people up with artillery stuff when they ask.

I've got the parts manual at work. The line diagrams may be of help.

M2 .50 Cal question
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 8:34 PM
Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a good reference pic of the operator's end of the commander's .50 mounted on an M1A2 Abrams? I am trying to improve the detail on my tank kit but I can only find pictures taken from the front. I am trying to get a shot of the trigger mechanism and whatever is located in between the handlebars that the commander holds onto.
- I think that I have worded my question incorrectly! I am actually after a picture of the cradle assembly that the .50 rests in, specifically the end facing the commander's hatch. I can only locate shots of the type used on M1A1's, but I am building an 'A2.- but thank you all for helping.

many thanks
Mick
