Sdkfz 232 (8Rad)
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 18, 2003 2:30 PM
Hey all!

Well after a five year break in modeling I have started a new project. I am planing a diorama based on the Sdkfz 232 (8 Rad) armored car and her crew. The dio is set on the Eastern Front 1942 outside of Kursk. The crew has time for a bit of a rest and a bath.
I am using the Tamiya 8Rad kit as well as Verlinden figures for this project. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will add a couple to my posts.

Any ideas, hints, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Great choice of kits Tom .... brings back some memories for me.

It was the 1st 1/35 kit I ever built ..... built 2 more since then.

One of Tamiya's early bests IMHO.

Ex18B - welcome back to modelling.Smile [:)]

The 232 makes up to a nice kit OOTB but the muffler covers really do need to be replaced as they are so big and the solid items really stand out.

Good luck, and post the pics.

Sherm,
What is harder to believe?
1) You actually built more than one of a German kit, or
2) You owned up to to building one at allClown [:o)]

Yes Peter ... I know it's hard to believe but it's true .... German Armour in the hands of the shermanfreak. We all have our skeletons in the closet.

That was the old days before I heard the calling of O.D.

Thanks for the replies... Now for the question...
how does one post pictures of their builds? I have searched the FAQ and other posts but so far I have not been able to find out how to get pictures of the model up....

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Anyone build the old Monogram 1/32 232? That was one of the earliest armor kits I built. Did two: one Africa, one Poland.
Got the Tamiya kit sitting in the closet, armed with an Eduard PE set (which comes with the exhuast covers).

Looking forward to seeing some pix, Tom!

Well I found out how to get a picture or two posted.

So here are a couple of pics of the 232 and one of the figures I plan on using in the diorama.

Looking good so far. Are you going to hang his clothes on the Radio Aerial like a washing line?Smile [:)]

Always wanted to do the Verlinden tub guy.... with another guy sneaking up behind him with a bucket of pig slops.Big Smile [:D] But that's just the type of guy I am.
