What M113 is this?...
Posted by Zero Enna on Sunday, March 18, 2007 1:26 PM

I only know that it's an IDF M113, but, what's exactly it's NAME?... At least I need it's name... I know that there are an IDF armour forum, but my account hasn't been approved yet, so I'll post here, hoping that there is someone here that can answer it... Thanks a bunch in advance. Most regards.

They call the M113 "Zelda".

I think that thing with the three white domes is just something in the background and not part of the APC.

Well actually it's not a Zelda as the Zelda is a word not used by the IDF... a "Zelda" would have the Toga armour suite on it, this one does not.  The correct term for the "zelda" used by the IDF is Vayzata.  Zero Enna, this is an M113 called a Nagmash.  Looks like a standard M-113 and I think TankJunky is right about the domes in the back.  Too bad you don't have another shot to confirm this.  As it looks for now, it is called a Nagmash which is an acronym for "Noseh Guysot Meshoryan Armoured Personnel Carrier"  Hope that helps

Yup it's not part of the tank.  If you zoom in you can see the far edge of the M113 roof clearly.  And in perspective it's obviously  behind the commander's cupola.

Hey Zero Enna , You've struck my interest about This Armour forum. What's the name of it & is it an IDF site for modelling ? I've recently started down the Israeli Military modelling,& amassing a small library in their history & armor [ I've always been amazed how a country surrounded by it's enemies has done so well in it's short history ]. Well any help in the area of websites for Iraeli modelling would be appreciated.    thanks , rudedog

Just like my model M113, this one has a addable head, except instead of a turret, its a radar system on it, probaly for traking aircraft, it mit be a missle systme.

Working on: Trumpeter SU-152 (1/35) Trumpeter E-10 (1/35) Heller Somua (1/35)

Ha Ha You guys ar funnyBig Smile It's not some wild IDF APC. It's just passing by an Israeli border sensor unit. LOL Look at the tracks markings on the ground, they show you that the tracks start for the right of in the photo. Look close just behind the commanders turret you can see a color difference between the APC and the sensor unit.

This is a "Come on Man Moment"!

LOL just look closer at your photos guys., Havy a nice and fun filled day.Toast
