My wife's pics...
Posted by lizardqing on Saturday, September 27, 2003 8:43 PM
Now that the subject probally got some attention, here you go Shermie. Note now that this was all still on the sprue a few hours ago when you said you wanted some pics. Sure is alot of tiny pieces and the instructions are not the clearest which has brought lots of questions to me. Now on to her progress.

I second Erock's comments. All my wife does is plant her butt in bed and watch t.v.! Borrrriiinnnggg. You got a cool lady Chris. Smile [:)]

I started out with letting her paint parts and then I bought her this one and told her it was hers to do. Plus it's something we can sit down and do with out gripping about something other than the kit of coarse.

Chris do you realize what a rarity you have in your wife? [:0] Many a guy in this forum would trade their firstborn (KIdding) to have a mate who models along side them. Sheesh. Its nice to have omething in common. Approve [^] Can't wait to see more.

Wish that worked for me. I bought my wife the 1/32 X-1 and told her it was all hers. That was 6 months ago, and it's still collecting dust on the shelves. Go figure.
Great looking Howitzer, though. Very nicely done. Can't wait to see her finish it!

Well she still thinks from the woman point of view though. I just showed her a pic of a Tiger painted witha multi-color sceme and she said it looks like a Fruit Loop tank. To much time feeding the kids it looks like.

LQ2, tell Mrs lizardqing2 (or is that lizardkween2Tongue [:P]) nice job.

No way my wife has the patience to do a kit. She can't put more than 8 pieces of our 3 year old's train set together without loosing it.Big Smile [:D]

Happy modelling

Truth be told... I model to get away from the kids and the Mrs.!
I love them all dearly, and, I enjoy a little peace and quiet in my model room. Therapy as it were.

My compliments to the Missus Chris .... a fine job so far on this kit.

To the best of my knowledge, the only husband and wife tag-team modellers who have displayed at FSM so far.

Keep up the great work you two .... and thanks for sharing with us.

Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

I can say she is appreciating the comments. Did'nt know that we were such a rareity.I have no choice but to build around them. It's hard for me to go to my modeling room right now since it is just 4 walls without a roof. She did say she wants to do a tank next so there is still more hope yet.

Lizardqing2,
if you want to show you Mrs the real one, I uploaded some pics of the ol' M101 on :

http://rongeorge.com/modules/Gallery/m101ref

maybe seeing the real one will help to inspire her more?
This one is one of two that are infront of my Battalion building in Germany.

Very, very nice!
My girlfriend wanted to give modeling a try, but wanted to do something "nice," so I got her Tamiya's 1/24 New Beetle. She squealed with delight when I gave it to her a year ago...and it still sits in the closet! Granted, it's in there with my 70 or so yet-to-be-builts, but still!
Well, at least she showed some interest in what I do!

Thanks Redleg, I tried and tried to find some ref pics but never found any and all the while they were right there on Ron's gallery. She made me save all of them so they will come in use.

You do have a good one there lizardqing2. The only paint that my wife wants to mess with is that four legged kind she keeps in the barn Tongue [:P]

Way to go Chris. I mean Mrs. Chris. Just watch out though. Mrs. Chris may just get too interested and kick you out of the workbench. LOL. Just kidding.

Nice Job!
My wife doesn't make models either, she's a gardener. Thank goodness she's not the type of gardener who expects hubby to come out and weed with her when he's got something more interesting on the table! The most she expects is for me to move my project onto the back porch so she can weed, I can build and we can both enjoy the day. What a gal!
