Actually, it's "MOPP". Mission Oriented Protective Posture.

However, it says as much on the box: CBR is Eurospeak for NBC. (Nowadays called CBRN: Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear)

Agreed, though, on the premise that it's a very old crew. However, I'm not convinced that you can't use the Dragon AIM kit if you want to make a late 80s tank, it depends on which of the options you choose to install. For example, you obviously won't want the BFT antenna and would probably want to use the 'flat' blowout panels.

The difference between infantrymen and cavalrymen is that cavalrymen die faster for we ride into battle!

I disagree. The men are not in MOPP (Mission Orientated Protective Posture) gear.  Two of them are wearing regualar BDU tops and the third is wearing the old style body armor from the 90's.  MOPP gear is general not worn with the sleeves rolled up and the gloves on the one guy are not MOPP gloves but standard issue leather gloves.  I would say the uniforms are the BDU's issued in the late 80's through 90's.  Also the kit box is labelled "Operation Desert Storm".

EDIT: Sorry about that.  I had my picture viewing turned off.  I was referring to Verlinden's Desert Storm Tank / APC Crew kit number VP10596.

Yeah, sorry I used the MOP term loosely, lets just say that they have thier gas masks on? Thanks for the quick correction.

regards,

Steve

How about Verlinden's VPI2277 US Tankers Crew Iraq?  Greatmodels have them.  Do a search on "Verlinden 1/35 Tankers Iraq".

So not really suitable for my M1A1 then, any suggestion of fingures I could use? I am looking to model a desert schemed unit in current use.

They are wearing the old style M25 tanker's mask. It went out of use in the early to mid 90s.

I have just purchased this figure set from Verlinden, would it be suitable for use with my Dragon A1M1 AIM kit? I was just thinking of using one or maybe two of the figures.

These guys are decked out in thier Chemical suits and gas masks.......MOP.....they are certainly suitable if you care to depict the vehicle under NBC alert or attack. In my experience, you only wore this stuff if you had to......
