As Rob said, it's the older kit with some new sprues, as Dragon has recently done with its "Baghdad 2003" M1A1HA (which I picked up the other day. Good looking kit.)
The Tamiya press release I saw in Japanese said
bubun shin kanagata (some parts new mold).
Rob, I don't think Tamiya ever released an M1A2 before now. Did you mean this is an update of their old
M1A1 kit?
