Maquette/VM 38 (t) series or Bison: any good?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 13, 2003 10:03 AM
Dear All,

I'm primarily interested in early WWII German military vehicles and
I've found out that Maquette/VM Ltd, a company based in
St-Petersburg, Russia, is producing a series of vehiches based on
38 (t) chassis, including several versions of Pz.kpfw 38 (t), Sd.kfz 140/1
and Wespe, as well as some additional parts for them.

I will be in St-Pb, Russia, this summer and I can probably get a couple
of vehicles from this line cheaply, but unfortunately I've not been able
to locate many reviews on them (only one at http://www.track-link.net/reviews/267 ).
Being originally from Russia, I know first hand that quality of things made
there can vary greatly: these models may be absolutely great or completely
worthless. If someone had any experience with these particular models
I would highly appreciate your opinion on weather I should (or maybe
how much I should) invest in them.

I would be also interested in a recommendation regarding Maquette's
"high tech" Bison kit. Is it good, or should I opt for (see FSM this March)
Zvezda Pz I chassis + Verlinden SiG 33 instead?

THX,

Serge
