A little boasting too

I too just got back from Hobbytown Usa Fall contest. I must say I owe alot to you guys here for all the help you have given. The two tanks that I have built both placed. I got a 2nd place for my Sherman and 3rd for my Bradley. It's not a first but for my first show I am pleased with what I came home with. Must say there are some really talented builders out there.

That's great Chris, congrats. The first and only model contest I entered folded due to lack of participation. Disapprove [V] Yes, there are many talented builders out there. Rather than a determent, they should be an inspiration.

Fantastic Chris!! It has been a very enlightened day for many of us here. See what will happen when you belong to sites like this. You can only improve with each model we build.

Good on you LQ2. It's nice to see your hard effort was rewarded.

Don't worry about it not being a first - a placing is still a damn fine effort in any man's/woman's book (except for the jerk that said winning is everything - he obviously never won ANYTHINGTongue [:P])

Did your placings inspire Mrs LQ to enter next year?Big Smile [:D]

Happy Modelling

Thanks everyone.
Peter- She was a little upset that she did'nt get the howitzer done in time to send it along. That's allright though got a little project in mind to do with it that could be interesting. She wants to do a tank now anyway so I'm sure there willl be something there with her handy work. The Bradley that I got the 3rd place with actually had alot of painting done it by her so she's got a piece of a prize allready.

Mate,

Better get her name ingraved on the trophy too. (It's always good to store up a few "brownie points" for when you do something she doesn't like, at some time in the futureTongue [:P] ).

If you both are going to enter again next year you might have to build a His and Hers trophy cupboard for the awards.

Happy Modelling

Yea she makes sure people know that she did something on one. I should be posting pics of a His and Her build here soon.
