How do you paint winter camo?

After you complete the armor piece in its normal camo pattern you can use white chalk mixed with a bit of water. After it has dried, you have a pretty good winter camo effect. The best thing is, if you make a mistake, you can correct it pretty easily.

Another easy way to do a winter wash is to paint the base color with acrylics then spray white enamel color. After that brush white spirit or enamel thinner all over the model to achieve winter wash. The thinner won`t affect the acrylic base coat. It`s easy to do and looks good. A bit of mistying will tie the colors together.

I cheat, I paint the vehicle in a very light gray, almost white. Then I dry brush the base color over the wear points. Basically it's like doing it in negative, drybrushing a dark color over the light color. Gives the illusion of a winter white wash being worn off.
