If its anything like their modern vehicles (like my Land Rover ( <- shameless plug)), then it will definatly be in the same colour as the vehicle. I wouldn't be surprised if the things weren't even removed for painting..

Usually the same colour as the vehicle.
In North Africa ... desert yellow, European Theatre - Bronze Green or a khaki drab.
