M36 Jackson

I am thinking about getting the Eduard 1/72 scale M36 Jackson tank destroyer. Has any one built this or heard reviews about this model? Curious if it is worth it or not.

I haven't even heard of Eduard making any armor kits. Just their detail sets and aircraft kits. If it's up to their usual standards, it should be a fantastic kit.

Keep us posted and let us know where you found it.

Thanks;

Yes, be sure you're getting a kit, and not the PE (photo etch) set, since I haven't heard of any Eduard kits either! Photo etch looks great on a tank destroyer kit, but not much good without it.

I did a search for m36 and m-36 on Eduards site. The only thing they show is item #35481 which is a 1/35 pe set for an Italeri Jackson.

Eight Ball [8]Oops;
Having said that, I just checked on Jackson, and Eduard is distributing a 1/72 M 36 Jackson with the brand name Extrakit. It has an item number of EXM7030 and retails for $24.95. Better be one heck of a kit for that price on a 1/72!!
There is no product description given on the Eduard site, so that's all I know.

good luck

Bill

I found the 1/72 scale kit they have. I am a little unsure about spending the money for it.

FYI, Eduard does do their own kits, mainly high-tech biplanes. Lot of talk regarding those ExtraTech kits (they have the M10 and Achilles out). Seems like a lot of money for a small kit.

I just got both the M 36 and the M 10. True, they do cost a pretty penny, but I have to say they are worth it. There is no flash and the detail is crisp. The M 36 has p.e. and resin and decals for two different tanks. The M 10 just has p.e. but decals for several TD's. Over all, I think they are worth it, but I'm just starting in small scale armor so I don't know much (built 1/72 airplanes 5+ years now). Hope it helps.
