Question on M-18 interior
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 3:34 PM
I am building Italeri's M-18 and it says to paint the engine area all white, including the engine? Is this correct or should I use other colors for the engine and it's components. I don't have any interior pics of the vehicle.

There are some engine bay shots right at the end of the thumbnails that might help. Under all the grime, I would say you have a basic OD engine, not white, but I'll leave it to you to decide.Big Smile [:D]

Yeah, they're way off on interior color for the M18 if they say to paint it all white. The fighting compartment (turret area) would be olive drab, just like the outside. The restored vehicles I've seen were white inside by the driver's compartment and the engine compartments were also white. I'd imagine that the guys who spent $130,000 on these things buying and restoring them were pretty careful to get the color right inside (sanding down through the various colors to the base color and primer etc).
