You guys were right on the button. Bill sent me a photo of a very pretty nurse standing in front of his truck in the philippines and it is exactly what you said it would be. A 3/4 ton BEEP WC51.In the photo it has a canvas cover.

This sounds like the Dodge 3/4 ton weapons carrier.Over the years it has been availiable in 1/35 scale from Peerless,Bilek and Italeri. The best detailed one however is the ex-Skybow now AFV Club one.I have also seen kits in 1/72 and 1/76 scale however can not remember the manufacturers.Any knowledgeable hobby shop should be able to get one for you.Hope this helps you out.

I think you are going to have to go with either the Skybow kit, or the Italeri kit. They may require some modification. I think Accurate Armour has both the “beep” and the command car in stock from skybow.

I hear the Italeri "staff car" is not quite as good as the skybow ones.

Good luck,
edog

Hi guys, I am not an armour guy usually so please forgive my intrusion on your section but I was hoping you could help me. My good friend in New Jersey and F.S.M member Bill Barber is a veteran of the Pacific war and he has asked me to look for a model of the truck he drove during the war. He knows it was a 3/4 ton four wheeler, probably built by Dodge and carried radio and machine gun. It had a spare wheel near the front fender and he thinks it used the same chassis as the staff car? He has looked for it but was told that a European Manufacturer makes a kit? Is this so? What would I look for here in Poland? A picture would be even better or a full title. if anyone knows said manufacturer that would be great. I would like to get it for him for X-mas so did not post this question in General Discussion.
Hope one of you Steel and wheel guys can help.
Thanks upfront.Question [?]
