Sent e-mail concerning pics.

You can absolutely always fit one more.

When leaving Somalia, the back of my trac was packed so tight that when not a single bit of vomit reached the deck. After a couple hours bouncing around at night in a rough ocean chasing a blacked out ship resulted in several of the embarked infantry sucumbing to heat injuries and having to be carried out the back.

Uncle Sam sends you to places not found advertised at travel agencies!

Thanks for the pictures.  Back when I was in the Corps ('91-'99), I spent a lot time in tracks.  Riding out of the well deck of ship is a real experience.

Here's a little story.  This one time we were in the Indian Ocean practicing loading and off loading of the Amtraks.  We were way-out in the ocean but it was mostly calm.  The track I was in caught fire in the engine and the commander shut the track down.  We bobbed around for an hour before we were towed back to ship.  That was most seasick I've ever been.  Between the rolling of the ocean, the smell of the fire, and it being really hot in there made for one of the most miserable experiences in my life.  But I still love those amtraks.  By the way,  I got to blow-up a LVTP5 with landmines once.  Now that was fun.

Is the saying still true: How many Marines can you fit in an amtrak? One more...

That occured in 29 Palms, one had went on its side the day before. Coming down a hill on pavement in rain, as it went around the corner she slid just enough to slide off the road and have the track catch. Zero injuries, the first vehicle only required changing a wheel hub that busted and spilled all its oil. Once righted they continued with the road march.

I managed to put one on its side heading down a canyon. Took all day to get it out, but once right side up we continued rolling.

I will bring the camera down to the ramp next week and snap some shots.

Looking forward to seeing your build.

What specific areas are you hunting for?

I'm sure I have what your looking for, and if not I can snap a couple pics next week.

Below is my photobucket link with a bunch of external shots.

LVTP7a1 or AAVP7a1 Interior References needed

Does anyone have a link or know of a book/magazine with pictures of the interior of a LVT7a1?  I tried a search on the web, but only came up with a few pictures.  Primeportal wasn't of much help either.  I think the old website of AFV Interiors had the pictures, but they're no longer operating.  Any help?

Thanks,

Jesse
