Hey Bill,

Found a pic in last nights paper that I figured you'd like to see.

It's good to see they're keeping our Sherman nice and clean. Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

I take it, it's getting a little cold up there!

I sure hope he's using a broom with nice soft bristles! Hate for him to damage something!! lol

Did they clear that maintenance with you?

Thanks for the pic, Robert.

Winter has grabbed us in its icey hands again. Currently -17c with a wind chill of -23c.

Guess it's time to retire the shorts to the bottom of the drawer again.

No need for clearing the maintenance with me, this is what Canadians do all winter, we shovel snow off of everything. Sigh [sigh]

Thats good snow, it stays in a picture.I almost feel guilty Sherm, it was 75F here today and personaly I have never used a snow shovel , we just wait till noon when it all melts. Of coarse I have never seen a snowmoblile either but from what I hear they are pretty fun so maybe you cold weather folks have one up on us down south.

well, we just went down to the south end of the province to see who would let us on their land to hunt mule deer next week. barely anyone would because of the fire hazard, so hopefully with this 15 in. of snow they will let us on their land. but one more question...Whistling [:-^] who has experienced 40 below weather with the wind making it -55 to -65?Wink [;)] besides robert, upnorth, heylonghair, Murray Kish, Smith M. etc. ...

Well I have here in Michigan. We get a lot of "lake effect snow" and cold.

"who has experienced 40 below weather with the wind making it -55 to -65?"

I have when I lived in Minnesota. It was typical weather for us. One Christmas Eve in the 80's, it got down to -72 with a -94 wind chill. That was the coldest I'd ever felt.

Remembering all that, it makes me glad I'm in sunny Southern California! :-) Although, I do miss the snowmobiles!

What's snowQuestion [?]

Here in Sunny Queensland, Australia if it gets down to 1 degree Celcius (34 degrees F) in Winter, we call it cold! I gotta travel nearly 1000k to see real white stuff when it arrives in July.

Here at the moment we are having a pleasant maximum of 29 degrees C (84 degrees F). Bring your shorts over here ShermTongue [:P]

Skis are ready and we're waiting here in Wisconsin! Too bad we have hills instead of mountains! I've been in -26F with a wind chill down to -60..... 8 hours OUTSIDE refueling aircraft... not fun.
We did have a Lear from Florida come in one night when it was -15F and I walked out in a T-shirt eating an ice cream cone to ask him if he needed any fuel after he was parked by a co-worker. Freezing my butt off was worth the expression on the pilot's face!
Sweeping the snow off the vehicle is easy... folding the tarp is a b! Of course, no tarps on those static display vehicles.

Here's the latest news...

The caption reads...

Posing in front of a snow covered Sherman is not exactly the best thing to do this time of the year. But these two men known only as Shermanfreak and wipw seemed to have thought otherwise and they have been keeping this lonely Sherman company for days now. Originally sheltered in a glass cage and supported by a steady supply of chinese food they have embarked on this strange crusade or stunt. Just recently however, these two men abandoned the safety of the glass and with only a coat of Future to protect them, they decided to face the weathering effects of the snowy and icy winter. It has been reported that agents from an unknown model company have already taken about a hundred of their photographs including their measurements in exchange for some more chinese food.

Dwight you really do crack me !!!!!! As always you are the master of photo manipulation.

We certainly do look a little warmer now.

I do have a question about the glare in the picture though.

Is it coming from the tops of our heads or from Bill's shiney coat? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Hysterical,

Nice job Dwight. It looks very authentic.

I hate to say it - But I think with that haircut and that jacket - Bill is looking a little like "Mr Freeze"

Amazing pic. I must have been od on buffet! I don't even remember being in that coat! lol

The Russian catalog is right. It was advertised as being worn only once by a Cosmonaut!
