Ferret Mk-2/3 Scout Car, need help recreating photo for a present.

I've bought the ferret mk2/3 scout car from accurate armour, and i want it to look the same as the one in the photo. Basically i'm building this for my dad for one of his christmas presents(that him in the top) and i want the model to look the same.

Can anybody give me any tips, any idea what the base colour of the vehicle would be? also any tip on what techniques i could use?

British armour cars sometime have two tones colour in which dark green and black colour are used. Check it out with this picture here:

Hope it helps. Looks like you father Ferret served in Middle East or North Africa. Colour might be different there.

Yeah its a great site, but I wish Mike would do a new issue as he hasn't updated since at least June this year. He did say he was scaling back but promised 2 new issues by the end of the year, including one in October....he must mean October 2004Tongue [:P]
