Robert,

He shows the front of one of the links in the last picture. Got me confused, though. I didn't think the Ferdinand tracks had any cleats on them and the Elefant had 3 sets of cleats.Confused [%-)]

Yeah, plus the cost to have your driveway and street reinforced to hold the weight. Could wind up being an expensive project!! (And I thought my models were getting expensive!) lol

I wonder what shipping on those things would be!! And from Germany at that. Might make the inital cost of the links look pretty reasonable! Can you imagine the look on the customs inspector's face?? lol

I looked in the one book I have that has pictures of a 1/1 scale Elefant, and the tracks on it definately have just one pair of cleats. So now I'm really at a loss!!Confused [%-)]Confused [%-)]Confused [%-)]Banged Head [banghead]

Does that mean both DML and Jaguar got the number of cleats on the tracks wrong? Is it really a picture of a Ferdinand? Or did they have more than the two types of tracks? I can hardly believe there would have been more than the two with there being only 50 Ferdinands and less that made it to the Elefant upgrade.Question [?]Question [?]Question [?]

I guess I'm just working Blindfold [X-)] !!

Wouldn't it be great to be fixed in front of a car as extra protection against collision? LOL.

Gee- at $750 how much would it cost to buy two full sets of tracks? Cheaper to buy a Caterpillar dozer and paint it dark-yellow!

Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid] (That being me!!)

I realized on my drive home that I have been totally up in the night. I've been working on the Tiger for so long, I was visualizing The those tracks instead of the ones for the Elefant! The model Elefant tracks (both DML and Jaguar) do, in fact, have one pair of cleats in the center of the links. (They just point the wrong way on the DML links.) Sorry about the state of confusion in my mind and in anybody elses that I might have caused!

Duhhhhhhhh!

The cost of those metal individual track links these days. Tongue [:P]

I wonder how many track-links from German WWII stuff are still floating around this planet of ours? I wonder if these were ever actually worn by a vehicle, or if they were factory surplus someone stashed as doorstops or ballast or something. Hmmm ....
