I got a set of microbrushes a while ago. I really like them for little paint touch ups and the like. And the clean up pretty well, too, so they don't have to be quite as disposable as was intended. However, the little fabric(?) tip eventually pulls off when cleaning.
I, being one to never throw anything away that might ever have any possible chance of being used for something, had one of the green "handles" setting on my bench the other day and needed something to put a droplet of superglue on a pe part. Not being able to find my "high tech" brass wire glue applicator, I grabbed the "broken" microbrush since it had such a fine point. It worked great. Better than my wire, in fact. Not only will it transfer the glue well, I can hold it on it's side a little and spread a very thin layer of glue over a small area also. I've since used it to run a bead of glue around the edges of the rear deck engine screening I put on my Tiger. It really workes great. And the superglue doesn't glob on and build up into a "bead" on the end like it does with a wire. When it does start to get some build up, a little cleaning with some fingernail polish remover cleans it right back up.
Hope this is useful to some of you.
