If you run across the Revell of Germany M998 or M1038, they are both the Italeri HMMWVs in the two door configuration. One comes with the troop cargo cover, the other with just troop seats. I got both of these stateside for under $10 each.

I did a fairly comprehensive review on all of Italeri's HMMWV kits about a year ago:
http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=91 called "The Much Maligned Italeri HMMWVs" and a follow up article earlier this year called "Improving the Italeri HMMWVs". I won a Tamiya Tiger tank kit with that first article.

We have a lot of the 1025 -1026 uparmored HMMWV's over here, or at least at Graf anyway. We had to learn how to be infantry in those things ( it sucked ) , way to cold for artillery guys to learn to be mounted infantry and then do dismount patrols?

you're probably right on the money about the command commando thing Major.
I've got three of the kits, the original one that was molded in green and a couple of the newer ones where they reworked the body to add the six ovals on the lower side of the chassis and reissued it in tan. They changed the instruction sheet to read "Command HUMMER", but the box art says Commando HUM-V.

Gee, all I got to drive was a lousy jeep. The seat put my BC to sleep. Up to the time I had to turn, that is, then back to sleep! Guess I was a good driver or he would have stayed awake. I'll shut up now....Bob

This was due to a mix up in translation. The four door M998 was indentified as a command HMMWV version. Normally used by company, battery, troop, battalion, brigade and division commanders. Also staff officers used them.

I guess someone saw "command" and thought "commando" was interchangeable.

If you are talking about the Desert Patrol hardtop HMMWV, they run about $12-15 here, but that price has always been thought of as high. Especially for a prototype that didn't get accepted into service.

BTW, I had a HMMWV like that when I was a tank company and HHC commander in 1st Cav.

Anyway, I just purchased the kit today to add to my artillery desktop collection. Any of you guys build one or two of these, and any heads up on the kit before I jump in?

And lastly, the one kit, the hard shell hummer with the crew serve on top, what is the price like in the states or elsewhere? It's 35.00 Euro here in Germany, just a lil' steep for a 1/35 scale kit of a hum v (at least I think ).Evil [}:)]
