What kind of memorycard does your digi cam have?
HP makes a photosmart printer that doesn't even need the computer (that's what I have ) , all you have to do is place your memory card inside the one of 4 different types of card ports and it'll load into your computer from there. You also have the option of USB port or you could get one of those usb port plug adapters to turn it into a rca type plug.

You can do it Frosty! Just look for the rectangular slots like they said. And also like they said, adding a usb card is a 5 minute job. Super easy. Holler if you need any help, I do it for a living
And if your date didn't show, smack him upside the head good and hard when you see him next!

yeah installing those cards is realy easy , anyone could so it. its just that most people are too scared to look inside their computer. don't pay 50$ to have someone else install it , it should take no more than 10 minutes.

Frosty,
I checked HP's website and Vectra VL does have 2 USB ports. However, it was not shown. Most computers have the ports on the upper left corner.
Let me know if yours doesn't have these USB ports. I could probably guide you in installing one.
Good luck.

How old, and what type, is your computer Frosty? Older ones do not have USB ports at all, and some newer ones like some Dell's have little doors on the front console that hide the ports
Maybe if you go to the manufacturer's Web site you can get help from one of their support people for the model of the PC you have. Otherwise you may have to phone your local PC place to see if they can give you an adapter or upgrade (don't know if this is possible myself) for a USB.
Good luck

It may not be in back, check the front panel for a door. If yours is a very early Vectra (no USB) it is not too hard to install, all you need is an open expansion slot, a screwdriver and an IQ of about 75.

Most computers now have a USB port on the front too. Check there first. It's rectangular.

well, there i was all ready to upload some pix from my new digicam on friday... loaded the software into the computer, had the cable hooked up to the camera and was totally psyched to finally do some posting of photos of my models.... but i couldn't figure out where the dang usb port was in the back of this computer !
i am feeling really frustrated, not to mention dumb... i know i'm not exactly a computer whiz kid, but u'd think it would be obvious where to plug the cable in, rite ? anyhow, so now i'm all dressed for the prom and my date's a no-show ! waaahhhhh !
it's a hp vectra vl, in case anyone is familiar with this unit...
