Accessorizing the Leopard...
Posted by lizardqing on Monday, November 10, 2003 10:17 PM
Just wondering what type of things I might be able to spruce up my Leopard 2 A5 with. Other than the normal array of tools, the kit did'nt came with anything else to add. I tried my skills at the turret baskets and they actually came out nice so i was wanting to throw something in them but don't know what would be normally carried in them. I don't off hand have any modern stuff laying around and the WW2 jerry cans would'nt be right I suppose. Any ideas would be appreciated and hopefully soon I'll have some finished pics up if I ever get my airbrush to work right so i can cammo it. Thanks.

LQ2,

I have tried to look at some pics of Leopard 2 A5 but carry-on baggage for this tank is hard to come by. Anyway these are cool links to the tank and its scale representation. You may find these useful.

Thanks for the links Dwight. A whole lot of great pics on that last one. That was my problem to about finding pics with anything on them. After fitting all the pieces on the model and seeing how really big it is, looks like there is enough room inside this big boy for all the luggage.

Just happy to help, guys. Broadband is really cool. I can surf the web in a flash. Doing searches is not a problem anymore.

Not that it'll help all that much, but when we worked with both Dutch and German forces using Leo II's they seldom had anything in their bustle racks. Carrying a bunch of "stuff" around seems to be a G.I. thing.

Thanks Steve, since you used to be around them I'll take that before something else from the net somewhere. Looks like they will be there just to look good.

Dwight, I could only wish I had broadband. I'm still stuck with waiting and waiting. Allthough I can remember having a roommate who had aol with a 9600 baud modem. You had to be real sure you were about to click a link that you really wanted to see.
